Procedural Guideline PDO

The development of the EU Law pertaining the protection of high-quality products led from EC Regulation 2081/92 to EC Reg. 510/2006. This is the last regulation that is part of the EU Law pertaining the protection system PDO.

EEC Regulation No. 2568/91 of the Commission of the 11th July 1991 pertaining the characteristics of olive oils and olive pomace oils as well as the methods used to produce them. (Published on GUCE no. 248/1 on the 3rd September 1991.)

EEC Regulation No. 1429/92 of the Commission of the 26th May 1992 that modifies EEC Regulation No. 2568/91 pertaining the characteristics of the olive oils and olive pomace oils as well as the methods used to produce them.

EC Regulation No. 1513/2001 of the Council of the 23rd July 2001 that modifies regulation no.1 36/66/EEC and regulation (EC) no. 1638/98, with regard to the extension of the assistance system and to the quality of the olive oil.

EC Regulation No. 2152/2001 of the Commission of 31st October 2001 that modifies EEC Regulation No. 2815/98 pertaining the commercial standards of the olive oil.

Regulation (EC) No. 796/2002 of the Commission of the 6th May 2002 that modifies EEC Regulation No. 2568/91 pertaining the characteristics of the olive oils and olive pomace oils, as well as the methods used to produce them and the additional notes written in the attachment to the regulation (EEC) no. 2658/87 of the Council pertaining the tariff and statistical nomenclature and the common customs tariff.

Regulation (EC) No. 1019/2002 of the Commission of 13th June 2002 pertaining the commercialization standards of the olive oil.

Regulation (EC) No. 1176/2003 of the Commission of 1st July 2003 that modifies regulation (EC) no. 1019/2002 pertaining the commercialization standards of the olive oil.
