Esperienza e tecnologia - Agricoltura Progresso

Italy, and Southern Italy in particular, is well known in Europe and worldwide not only for its landscapes and beautiful buildings,but also for the extra virgin olive oil production that has no parallel in the whole Mediterranean area. Our country counts more than 500 olive types. Apulia is one of the most famous Italian region for its extra virgin olive oil production, thanks to the many olive types grown such as Coratina, Pizzuta, Nasuta, Ogliarola Barese, Cima di Bitonto, Leccese, Provenzaleand many others.

Esperienza nella produzione dell'olio extravergine di olivaThe members of our Cooperative, who work in the area around Bari, near to the sub – region Murgia, mainly grow two olive types:  Coratina and Ogliarola Barese.

Coratina leads to a slightly bitter and spicy oil, that gourmets particularly appreciate. We recommend to use this oil as condiment for bruschettas, meat and boiled vegetables.

Ogliarola Barese leads to a palatable oil, which is highly recommended for roast meats. The union of these two olive types makes our extra virgin olive oil one of the best Italian products in the oil sector.

We’ve been always respecting environment and consumers. Over the years we’ve been improving our production, so that we managed to obtain more and more market shares. We’ve been dealing more and more often with the production of organic olive oil. Even though it is less produced than traced extra virgin olive oil, it represents for us, members of the cooperative Agricoltura Progresso a real source of pride.
